About Me

My name is Julie Blosser. As you can tell by my picture, I am a nontraditional student. In addition to being a full-time student, I am a full-time official court reporter. After three-and-a-half years, I am finally a senior and will receive my bachelor’s degree in English.

I have been a court reporter for over ten years. I am very fortunate to have a career that I love. I started off as a freelance reporter and then took a job as an official in 2009. I still freelance on the side when my schedule allows. I am a state certified reporter and a nationally certified reporter. I have what’s called a Certificate of Merit certification, which only four other people in West Virginia have. After I finish school, I plan on working towards obtaining my realtime certificate, which is the highest certification I can receive from the National Verbatim Reporters Association.

While work and school have taken up a lot of my time over the past few years, I have developed an interest in exercising. I lift weights three days a week and try to get to yoga class a couple of times throughout the week. In addition, I have two miniature dachshunds who are very, very spoiled, and I enjoy walking them through the neighborhood.

I consider myself to be very fortunate. Having the opportunity to go to school as an adult has been a wonderful experience. I love learning and being exposed to new things. I will have accomplished a long-time goal in December when I finally graduate, and I couldn’t be more excited about finishing this chapter of my life and starting a new one.
