You may be wondering what exactly a court reporter does.  The simple answer is to make a verbatim record of proceedings and produce an accurate transcript of everything said during that proceeding. Court reporters can work in the freelance setting, or they can be official court reporters working every day in a courtroom.

This website will describe my capstone experience and my internship at Realtime Reporters which is one of the largest court reporting agencies in West Virginia. My internship concentrated on the production of transcripts and designing a style manual for reporters to reference.

The pages of this website will introduce you to me, tell you about Realtime Reporters, show you some of the documents I worked with, detail the work I did, and, finally, show you the style manual I designed for Realtime Reporters.

I hope you enjoy this website, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me through e-mail at jnblosser@mix.wvu.edu.
